The Good Samaritan Fund: Providing Resources for Nursing Home Residents
In the parable of the Good Samaritan, Jesus teaches us to love our neighbors as ourselves. In Jesus’ teachings, your neighbor does not mean the people who live next door—a neighbor is anyone in need. At The Village at Morrisons Cove, our mission is to reach out to and assist our friends and neighbors.
We established The Good Samaritan Fund to help offset the cost of caring for residents without financial resources. When you donate to The Village, your money goes directly into The Good Samaritan Fund for our residents. The fund covers paying for meals, medication, activities, haircuts, and other things we may take for granted. It also can go toward wheelchairs, beds, and electric lifts, and the more expensive aspects of medical care. Whatever our residents need to assist with their daily lives, The Good Samaritan Fund provides it. We would not be able to continue our ministry without the assistance provided by the Good Samaritan Fund and the benevolence of our Good Samaritans. Your donation provides peace of mind for our residents and their families so they can age with the dignity and care they deserve.
Our neighbors and community members deserve to age without worrying about how they will receive the care they need. Your contributions to the Good Samaritan Fund allow us to provide quality care, peace of mind, and needed relief to families in need, right here in the heart of the Cove.

The Dr. Ramon C. Burket Guardian Endowment Fund: Investing in Wellness and Care
Established in 2025, The Dr. Ramon C. Burket Guardian Endowment Fund is a fund specially designed to benefit The Village’s Endowment Fund and provide nursing home residents with greater access to wellness and care programs. The fund serves older adults facing financial hardship to ensure they have access to the resources they need. Contributions to our endowment fund ensures a sustainable flow of income for our residents and their care. Investing in wellness programs allows us to provide a healthier, happier community overall.
Dr. Ramon Burket was a family physician. Known for his warmth, knowledge, and faith, Dr. Burket was a pillar in his profession, community, and church. He put his patients at the forefront of his praxis; even in his off-time, he could be found patching up the Roaring Spring football team. He was an advocate for education and healthy living. He served on the Board of Trustees for The Village at Morrisons Cove for over 30 years and strongly believed in uplifting those in need, both in the short-term and for generations to come. Your gift supports his legacy of community investment and ensures our neighbors will be taken care of for another 120 years.
